A stunning solution that turned product into art.

PPG Industrial Coatings challenged us to create a trade show exhibit that would stand apart in a crowded METALCON exhibition environment while showcasing the beauty, versatility, and performance of its products. Inspired by the architectural legacy of Fallingwater, we developed an immersive brand experience that transformed PPG materials into the centerpiece of the exhibit itself.

By combining architectural inspiration, interactive engagement, and product-driven storytelling, the booth stood out amongst the other exhibitors and reflected PPG’s theme of “Change what’s possible.”

Inspired by an Icon

Drawing inspiration from PPG’s color palette collaboration for Frank Lloyd Wright’s renowned Fallingwater residence, the exhibit embraced the relationship between architecture, materials, and environment. Clean lines, layered forms, and natural textures provided a sophisticated backdrop that reflected the design possibilities using PPG’s products, coatings and finishes.

Rather than relying solely on graphics and messaging, the environment itself became an expression of the brand. Mosaic patterns, crafted from PPG’s actual products, added an interactive, textural experience, demonstrating how PPG products contribute to the built world in both functional and visually compelling ways.

Extending the Experience Beyond the Show Floor

Before attendees stepped onto the trade show floor, they encountered PPG’s message at Pittsburgh International Airport. Installed along passenger exit corridors, two large-scale environmental graphics leveraged forced perspective to transform a constrained architectural space into an immersive brand experience. These color-filled world skylines featured PPG coated structures, such as the Empire State Building and the Louvre.
