PPG Paint & Metal Color Sample Folders

The Challenge
PPG was looking for a creative way to showcase their paint colors, as well as display metal samples. They asked us for a different packaging idea that they could give away at targeted sales meetings as a functional and memorable gift. Our goal was to create a truly unique item that would show off PPG’s coating colors and allow for easy interaction with the samples.
The Strategy
Accordion Sample Folders
Our solution was an artistic, accordion-style sample folder where the audience could mix and match colors. We created two companion pieces – one that was targeted towards residential applications that spoke to architects, and one that was targeted to a more industrial audience. Both pieces use illustration along with key words to describe the aesthetics of the PPG colors, a ribbon hand-selected by one of our designers, and high-end paper for a luxurious feel.
